No matter if we speak about food, painting or whatever type of art, sometimes our brains tend to imagine things the wrong way, and something similar happens while listening to this song! Follow me through this new adventure if you want to understand what this means.
After quite some time, the talented producer Landis returns to Hexagon with a delicate and surprising production that won’t leave anybody indifferent, “Nobody Like You“. The first bars are one of the most summerish ones I’ve heard in a while, I can easily imagine myself laying on the beach while listening to this track during a sunset. Some cheerful pianos playing a smooth chord progression, together with some charming female vocals, give us that calm feeling, which is even dreamier as soon as the airy chords start playing before the build-up, which makes us think about the summer drop of the year…
And well, in fact, it could be, but it’s not what 90% of us were thinking about. Instead of some Avicii-styled pianos and typical vocal chops, a way deeper drop takes over, featuring some pitched down vocals playing among a strong kick and a warm and powerful bass sequence. You can only love or hate this section, because the change is so abrupt that you can’t feel indifferent after it. As a lover of original and crazy tracks, I just can say that I really like it, it was as great as unexpected.
I want to end this article pointing out a funny fact that, if it might be a pure coincidence, accompanies perfectly the hoax of the song. The first time I looked at the cover I said “oh my god, that’s the Reaper”, but luckily, as soon as I zoomed it out, I realized that it wasn’t. As you could see, things aren’t always what they appear, and Landis played amazingly with that meaning!
