• Orchestral and delightful drops from V&G
• Even Christmas lunch was more digestible than Tungevaag’s drop
• Aloma Steele with her mesmerizing vocals
In our series of reviews, we have mentioned the Dutch pair Voster & Gallardo (hereby mentioned as V&G) and with this significant team-up, it’s finally time for a proper review! These two budding producers are compleat with orchestral breakdowns, a characteristic which I have enjoyed several times, descended from them leaning into Progressive House in their past.
Now, with assistance from Aloma Steele (KAAZE, Trivecta, Paris & Simo) and the rising star Tungevaag, the quartet have materialized “Electrified” on FHM. As obvious, it is a Future House record that initiates 2022 with good.. and bad news.
Not being critical than usual here, this release is rather entertaining and merits a 70+ rating! Aloma Steele verifies her authenticity and experience with a remarkable performance instilled in the breakdown, supported by the bespoke harmony inducing elements from V&G!
Struggle arrives with Tungevaag’s involvement: a great producer, often capable of impressing the listener, his lack of motivation can lead to mundane results. That’s the scenario here, as “Electrified” suffers a monotonous and predictable sequence with absolutely blank difference from the hundreds of other FHM’s standard releases. Luckily, the short duration acts as the saving grace, with a couple of bars and then returning to the more intriguing parts.
In my experience with “Electrified”, yes, it sure deserves a listen thanks to its elegant segments and I am glad to see V&G’s talent being noticed by a major label! Although, in all fairness, I would like a more “electrifying” drop next time.
