• Clever lyricism in vocal delivery
• Slower and elegant melodic hook
• Calming features such as piano
Let’s start this review by congratulating George Redwood for his magnificent performance, given the brutal competitiveness existing in the saturated domains of Progressive House genre nowadays. It seems quality vocal delivery alongside meaningful lyricism is perhaps the only way to stand out here.
With a solemn base from PuFFcorn, “First Time” hit me pretty hard; usually fascinated by delicate melodies, this pattern certainly strikes in the category. The style falls into the predictable Manse type Progressive, something we have reviewed time and time again: so don’t expect a groundbreaking presentation there. Yet, I still managed to get impressed by the subtle touch of the creator (very young, having a history of couple of releases and several mashup packs), who adopted a calmer, elegant pattern with his pianoforte.
It is harder to pinpoint it with words, but this track’s drop is far relaxing than one would anticipate, maintaining a laid back and leisurely operation. It’s only a detail, and because of that I am bringing the song to you, something extremely charming and worth-noting.
If this review comes off as slightly vague and personal, my apologies, but owning a blog offers me the creative expression to feature about everything I like, be it big or small. One day it is mentioning worldwide a particular genre’s trends, the other its analyzing up and coming producers.
PuFFcorn and George Redwoods’ creation is OK for the bunch, and yet with that sparkle and dash of personality that deserves a rewarding mention. A must listen for any Progressive House dilettante!
