Tiësto & John Christian are no strangers to each other, having collaborated on no less than 4 different songs. “Can You Feel It” marks another stunning collaboration in the big room spectrum, and it’s no surprise that Tiësto sees such talent in John Christian, because his solo tunes are equally good. With releases on Musical Freedom, Armind, Protocol, Revealed and more, John Christian has risen through the ranks as a prolific producer with unique sound design. Tiësto needs little introduction – his latest tunes including “Grapevine“, “Wow” and “Halfway Therehave stuck to his iconic bigroom style.

The sound design on this tune is largely John Christian, bearing stark similarities to his previous solo tune, “Let’s Get This Thing Started“, which I wrote about here. Gritty basses and blaring leads provide that in-your-face feeling that signifies quality bigroom. Of course, even in bigroom, melody is King, albeit when combined with a sense of rhythm. The vocal sample – after which the song was named – adds some major tonality to the otherwise minor feel in most of John Christian’s songs. A vocoded “here we go again” pumps up the energy pre-drop until you heard the dirty lead pounding a different melody from the break altogether. John Christian has always managed to combine groove, energy and melody in a fine balance which sounds brilliant through festival speakers.

With this being Tiësto ‘s second release in two weeks (following another bigroom tune with Dzeko), both with the same font and pattern in the cover art, it seemed very likely that Tiesto is gearing up for an EP. On his latest episode of Club Life, he confirmed that there would be an 8-track EP called Together out next Friday, April 5th. This EP will include this collab, his tune with Dzeko, his tune with Mesto out March 29th, and his tune with 7 Skies premiered at Tomorrowland. Since all these 8 tracks have been confirmed to be collaborations, this leaves 4 more artists (or more if there’s a triple collab) who will be featured on the EP. Be prepared to
hear quite a few tracks from the EP at Tiesto’s Ultra set in a couple of days, and perhaps he’ll even call one of these unknown collaborators on stage to premiere their new single.

In the meantime, enjoy this banging bigroom tune and also my selection of John Christian’s best tunes below.
