• 2014-style electro house. We missed it!
• Catchy vocal, signature lead
• Simple yet hypnotic melody

Wow, finally a Tiësto song that is not a collab or an edit!
The last solo track of the Dutch legend was “Red Lights” (2013), but the singer wasn’t credited. “Chasing Summer“, released 6 years ago, is actually the latest Tiësto song without a collaborator.

We waited 6 years for this review, and we are extremely satisfied. That’s the real good old Tiësto, 2018 is delivering insane comebacks!

The Musical Freedom boss is having a successful year, with the magnificent “I Like It Loud” EP and the summer hit “Jackie Chan” with Preme, Post Malone and Dzeko. However, we consider “WOW” the real “track of the year” for him, because of the extremely positive receptions.
Old fans (like us) went crazy with this electro house old-school style. That’s the right approach: no famous singers needed, no complex ideas, just the genuine Tiësto acid style of 2014!

“WOW” is evidently inspired by old releases like “Maximal Crazy” and “Hell Yeah!” (with Showtek). Back at the time, this was the trending electro house and the Dutch artist was one of the biggest names in that sector.
The production recycles the acid vibes and the signature lead in a quite futuristic melodic approach, delivering a fresh (but, at the same time, nostalgic) atmosphere.
Special mention to the vocal: simple, but effective!

“WOW” is interesting. It’s a courageous old school experiment, which won’t be, obviously, understood by a part of the fanbase. However, we liked it and we are really satisfied with Tiësto’s work. It’s a song made with the heart, and we felt it.

What a year: we are seeing the comeback of Dutch House, Progressive House, and now oldschool Electro House. What’s next?
