R3HAB x Mike Williams – Lullaby

January 26, 20182 min read

90\100

Giving a 90\100 to a song from R3HAB is unexpected (after our critics to his album), but a delicious surprise. His new collaboration with Mike Williams, called “Lullaby”, delighted and entertained us, and we consider it as one of our favourite future house songs of the current year.

“Lullaby” is one of the few releases where, even if the base is great, the vocal alone brutally brings its quality another level. A 90\100 level. We must admit that the two producers made a wonderful job (we will talk about it later), but the vocal… Simply from another world. The unknown singer made a superlative performance!

In few words, “Lullaby” is not particularly creative. Classic Mike Williams structure, with a chillier imprint by R3HAB… So, what’s “special” here?

The atmosphere.

A lullaby is a piece of music that is usually sung to children. As Mike Williams already showed in “Bambini”, creating this particular “nostalgic/childish” moods is something he’s really good at. Adding the soft touch by R3HAB, and we have a perfectly relaxing and melancholy tune. It still keeps a positive and happy future bounce mood, but that vocal, mixed with the particular mood, creates a particular atmosphere. Because of this, we consider the collaboration particularly genial, well produced, and capable of sharing unique feelings to the listener.

Mike Williams once again showed his talent. Talking about R3HAB, this is a great news for us: the Dutch producer has released a piece of art.

“Lullaby” will amaze you, and together with its special vocal, it represents one of the most grateful releases of the week!
