NHEIRO – We Got The Fire

May 21, 20222 min read

• Uses pizzicato lead, with a brutal bassline
• Energetic drop sequence, although short
• Equally focused breakdown with vocal

It’s time to showcase a new name to EDM Reviewer’s community: NHEIRO, hailing from Germany! The producer has impressed me with a striking release on Madox Network (which rarely misses, these days), “We Got The Fire”.

Sure, I am slightly tired of the STMPD-ish Bass House approach we are all hearing recently, especially after Garrix set an even higher standard with a great album. “We Got The Fire” enters that risky domain (at least for me)… But thrives with enough personality for an enjoyable time.

First, there’s a remarkable build-up section with a female vocal and Big Room reminiscent supersaws: one harsher transition after, and voila, the “Fire” ensues from the explosion. I loved the use of the familiar ‘pizzicato’ lead, fused with a thumping, brutal low-end in the backdrop. The melody remains vivid and energetic throughout the performance. A couple of fills and vocal shots conclude the section, which felt surely too short considering its stamina.

I appreciate how NHEIRO didn’t focus only on the drop but also leaned towards an old-school breakdown that prioritizes the vocals, which is often in the background in usual Bass House formulas. The overall effect never bores, differentiating its point of strength.

“We Got The Fire” is surely a promising release. It’s capable of entertaining for three whole minutes with a well-composed sound design and plenty of fun. NHEIRO, you certainly got another admirer!
