MISERO x VIGIL – Be Alright

May 23, 20222 min read

• Laidback tones with a soulful vocal as the protagonist
• Carefully curated sound design
• Pinch of slap vibes in the Deep House drop

After popping into my submission inbox quite unexpectedly, I was immediately stuck to the hooking vocal and the laidback atmosphere that goes around it! With the summer almost here, my craving for Tropical, relaxing EDM increases exponentially, and refreshing tracks like “Be Alright” is just the right one to enter into my favorites list.

For those uninitiated, it’s a collaborative effort between MISERO and VIGIL. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find much info about the latter artist, while MISERO is an experienced producer with past releases signed by Kontor and Universal music, specializing in electronic-pop productions. Moreover. his discography isn’t scarce of the fun element, especially with songs such as “Seven Nation Army” and “Good Vibe”.

And “Be Alright” displays signs of professional creativity behind it: the sound design remains clean, with a minimalism that doesn’t make it sound sparse or need anything more. Smooth vocals dominate here, crafting a slower, chilly vibe that made me swoon for the entire duration. The drop is a soulful sequence filled with deep house influences and a slight slap house hint towards the bassline, delicately introducing some bouncier constituents without ruining the slower tone of the build-up. The protagonist here is the vocal, which quite literally tells the listener to calm down and that’s everything alright. So adorable!

Even if I missed that spark of “uniqueness” for really standing out, “Be Alright” is more than just fine: it’s a notable release that creates deeper sentiments with a carefully curated sound selection.
