Well, I am speechless to even begin describing what a fool, and eventually grateful I am for discovering this track. Fool, for I was ignorantly expecting some sort of typical Big Room, Progressive, or Bass House, since this label’s inclination towards those genres. However, it all turned out rather an unexpected surprise. Duo Miko and Mavzy engineered an impressive Tech House machine, not hiding its Big Room roots with a visible festival swank.
The rhythm captured me from the first second, as it broke some usual rules. This is a track whose weight is massively carried over by the genial work done through the alluring lyricism and vocal delivery. If “Rock My World” gets stuck in your head somehow, it will probably be because of the songwriting. The build-up chooses a festival-oriented mood with an electro house drop, an unanticipated but appealing move. Without leaving much time for a breather, the second drop arrives after a heavier than usual impacting introduction, not lasting more than five seconds as it returns back to the preceding groove.
“Rock My World” astonished me quite a lot, and prevailed with hooking ingredients such as the lyrics and a danceable beat. Thanks to HDR for noticing and signing this one!
