Neyroboy, Alana – Perfect Life

February 7, 20212 min read

• Upbeat and playful
• Usual but refreshing Future Bass structure
• Well curated and ear-candy elements

Russian alias Neyroboy is a personage that immediately caught my eyeballs with his peculiar oddities, as well as an entertaining production titled “Perfect Life”. On a chance you might have browsed his social media, the striking feature being the virtual appearance of a digital humanoid with a golden skin. Surprising if I must add, as it’s not your usual KLOUD-wannabe with a cyberpunk background, hood, random mask and σвѕ¢υяє ƒσηтѕ.

Antics apart, branding acts as one of the duality to exist in the competition for an artist: here, we mostly end up caring about the music, and well, “Perfect Life” is full of potential. Talking about it, the sweet vocal rendition from Alana is dominant in the pop-leaning moombahton type breakdown, a part that leave me without much distinctive feelings, until a transition quickly sweeps in the explosive drop awaiting to break in the calmness of this segment.

After this, a dynamic composition left me impressed with its energetic round of bassline and stunning work with great focus on vocal editing. If carefully listened, one can single out the meticulous attention paid to the complex mesh of distortions and echoes, building up as a surprising outcome with just a few ingredients to power the instrumental. Although it features standardized saw synths that are typical to this style of electronic-pop, the playful melody along with chaotic round of percussion adds just the zest. If the breakdown pertains to that catchy summer tonality, the section following sets it apart from counterparts with the alluring, upbeat and ear-candy signature demonstrated.

“Perfect Life” is undoubtedly radio-friendly albeit falling into more intriguing type. It is delightful to listen, and arises my curiosity on how the said artist is going to approach his new ideas uniquely in the Future Bass soundscape.
