June 17, 20183 min read

82/100

• A peppy future house production with earworm elements
• Atmospheric and refreshing breakdown complemented by a kinetic drop
• Showcases lively components such as vocal melody and violin harmony

Showcasing his mettle and merit, Finnish prodigy Samlight certainly is moving up the ranks of this industry. In fact, he already impressed us with his preceding single “Adventures”, which was a team-up with the uprising producer Triple M. Adding his special blend in the genre of future house, Sam light has constantly shown kinetic attribute in his works without compensating essential requisites. Today, we will be talking of his latest record, “You Take Me Up”, which has been self-released as a free-download. This peppy and animated instrumental carries happy and cheery vibes, and at the same time hooks the listener’s ears with alluring and lively elements.

While we will continue talking about this brand new single today, a sneak-peek to past discography of the artist helps a lot.

As of that, let us talk a bit more about the well-endowed Finnish local today. Recently signed to the mega-label Spinnin, Samlight also got into a prestigious contract with Sony Music Finland. He also gained support and appreciation from Spinnin Talent-pool, which formed a solid basis for his two singles being released there. The end of the month of March saw him release his earlier track “Hold On To Me”, which also featured the enchanting voice of Tori Franco. This song delivered the catchy summer vibes, taking equal proportions of the tropical and future house. The slightly pop galvanized backdrop also gave this single a nice touch, making it compatible with both radio and clubs.

Now let us revert back to “You Take Me Up”. The first breakdown meets warmly, giving space to pluck synths playing atop of an arp synth in the background. Generating the spirited atmosphere, it proceeds towards the first round of drop. With the riser in effect, the drop jumps in with an unusual gusto. Lead by a vocal melody, the energetic house synths pump in stamina simultaneously. The buzzing components in the drop create the necessary hype and stamina, before halting to the second-half of this production. Starting on a dreamy note, the following breakdown brings in a grand piano, which then subsides to a sentimental act of violin. The plucky synth reintroduces themselves again, forming the bridge to the riser, leading up to the climactic and last performance by the buoyant drop.

To sum up briefly, “You Take Me Up” does an impressive job of exceeding the expectations, leaving a distinct impression on listener’s mind after its playback.
