AKIAL – Demon’s Jungle

November 1, 20202 min read

• Hypnotic rude vocals, in repetitive loop
• Meticulously made
• Leaning towards Electro domain

For past few weeks, it seems I have preferred Bass House a bit more, and perhaps it is the genre I have reviewed most. Perhaps because of the fact the style has exploded recently, or not. This time I received a submission which grabbed my attention thanks to its brutal speedhouse segments and its tribal vocal. Unheard to me, AKIAL is relatively new but with the skillset that is worth discussing.

Starting with this one, “Demon’s Jungle” has fastly pacing segments which reminded me of SSXEV (considered an expert in this part of EDM), but this one turned out harder than usual. It’s grittier drop is incredibly put together and unpredictable. However, a flaw presents itself with the aggressive tonality, which could be overwhelming for some.

The voice driving the instrumental has an enjoyable presence because of its rude personality, succumbing to monotony. If you don’t have a lot of patience, it can be upsetting. This wasn’t an deal-breaking issue for me, however I did skip to the hook directly from the break after a while.

Talking about sections in the production, the second one didn’t variate much and continues with same features. The tune therefore doesn’t risk with its formula.

Nevertheless, it can’t be debated that the Chile-based native has put out his best work to the date, and undoubtedly will get the seal of approval from bass addicts!
