Maulik, Malitha – Vastuni

June 29, 20202 min read

• Another Ethnic Psy-Trance tune, with the typical vocal standards
• Frenetic and attention grabbing melody
• Surprising hard kicks in-between

Second Psy-Trance review for this week and we have another unheard-of title I had to take assistance of Google to understand its meaning. “Vastuni” should mean “goods” in Sanskrit, more or less. This creation by Maulik (already talked about last month) and Malitha hits hard, delivering vibes that I decided to analyze with you today.

When introducing Maulik in the past review, I specified that we have a beginner here, thus there is a lot of room for improvement and gaining experience. I can already feel some upgrades in “Vastuni”, which adopts a Psy-Trance schematics given by Malitha (considering that it’s one of his main genres) and adds hardstyle kicks, an ethnic vocal and an “out of the box” melodic pattern.

With exception of the vocal (sure its exotic, but as already said, I’m weary of clichès), I liked these additions. The kick, wisely equipped for certain moments in the drop, constantly catches the listener by surprise, as sudden spikes of aggressiveness. The hook, additionally carves a frenetic and hard-hitting rhythm in the composition, keeping a distinctive vibe with a danceable and hypnotic mood.

“Vasnuti” is a good example of Psy-Trance, and while I’ve already noted down Maulik’s name in May, I have to do the same with Malitha. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them on Dharma Worldwide with a follow-up, considering that it already received the support of Padè and Marnik, the two names that are stable members in the particular roster. Fingers crossed…
