• Ambitious début from a new, unknown name
• Sweet and emotional vocal presence
• Dreamy atmosphere, highly appreciated
This review is sort of shot in the dark, as I have little to no idea about who Mavela is: his social media presence has just embarked with a début on Bedroom Movement imprint. I sympathize for the contemporary “bedroom producers”, people who are like me working in their rooms for hours, without bothering much about streaming and revenues (yet). Hopefully, I have found another name for my personal collection of talents! The Danish newcomer has offered a great Progressive House track that deserves an exclusive article.
“Make You Mine” features the requisite delectable vocal and an ethereal breakdown that is immediately appreciable; the dreamy atmosphere works well here. The lyrics narrate a classic romantic story about what love feels like when people are separated from each other, trying to find the confidence to take the next step in process of falling in a relationship.
Very sweet, but you know what’s sweeter? The drop that comes right after with a stunning melody that hit me in the right spot and well-processed bassline. An enjoyable sequence throughout! Sure, there are flaws; I didn’t like the kick-drum employed and claps used in the final build-up, which makes it somewhat confusing. There is room for improvement, especially when we are considering a commencing producer in the process of finding his signature.
Hopefully, Mavela will continue pursuing this direction of revealing more high-quality productions and strive to distinguish his hallmark. The result, for now, is extremely satisfying: “Make You Mine” amused me with its alluring nature, hence earning my recommendation for listening to it!
