ARTY feat. Griff Clawson – You’re Not Alone

February 4, 20203 min read

• Balance of Acoustic and Electronic elements
• Underlying motivated theme
• Atmospheric and mellifluous

Just over a week ago, we talked about his remix of Max Styler “Let Me Take You There”, and it seems like the Russian ARTY isn’t stopping from surprising us even more. Releasing his very first original of the year (and decade) titled “You’re Not Alone”, it features vocals by talented American native Griff Clawson, who’s known for teaming-up with The Lost Boys and recently, Boombox Cartel. It’s interesting to note the diversification ARTY is trying to embed in a genre that has become more saturated over time. His creative efforts include giving his own spin to House tracks and even mingling trance with Progressive genus as Alpha 9.

You’re Not Alone” takes an emotional stance definitively, filled with motivation as its core-theme. This production is packed with a balance of acoustic & electronic elements. Interestingly enough, original mix spans for 4 mins while the extended mix lasts a minute more, something uncommon in the genre nowadays. This perhaps could be ARTY getting influenced from similar method used by the reputed duo Tritonal.

The intro begins with his signature pluck, playing as a major highlight element. This builds up to a breakdown accompanied by acoustic elements such as the guitar. Backed up by warm pads, Griff Clawson’s charming voice holds up attention. Keeping a recurring motif in his creations, his preceding original “Daydreams” leaned towards aspiration coming true. One can witness the chorus between Griff’s solo vocals & the drop, acting as an effective rapport for a build-up. And, ARTY does love us to surprise us with these energetic drops. A minimal pluck synth laden drop would also do good, but the insanity in these high festival drops plus a heavy bassline (similar to his production Rain) really emanate an euphoric feeling.

The second break segment doesn’t alternate all except a heavier chorus, with the intense soul-touching high from the vox, leading to a climactic feel by having the drop hook backed with the guitar, providing a unique buildup while maintaining the same stamina. The final drop uplifts even further by bringing the cadence added with a larger reverb, intensifying the atmosphere and feels.

Overall, “You’re Not Alone” is an amazing Progressive number that has been meticulously created, perhaps his alter-alias could forge an equally intriguing VIP mix! With these two solid productions, I’m really looking forward to what the Armada signed artist has prepared for the future!
