• Elegant attitude in the breakdown
• Soft, relaxing vocal
• Drop that correctly balances melodic and dynamic attitudes
Progressive House has always and will always be one of my personal favorites genres in the EDM sphere. Starting from 2010 with legends like Swedish House Mafia and Avicii, I’ve always looked for these sweet, melodic sounds for my playlists.
That’s why, once again, I’ll speak about an underrated Prog gem, this time from Spain! We have two rather new producers in the battlefield, Lost Skies and SNRS, and I must admit that the outcome of their joint effort is excellent!
Their creation, “Don’t Look Back”, begins with an interesting breakdown, introducing some elegant elements and refreshing an otherwise predictable schema. A calm, relaxing vocal plays around, supported by a sweet piano first, than accompanied by a violin lead that slowly escalates into a classic synth. Nice idea, that suddenly shows that “Don’t Look Back” has a lot to say to the listener.
The drop presents itself with an explosion of stamina, with a well-built lead that fuses an energetic attitude with an obligatory (for the genre) melodic structure. That’s subjective, speaking of personal tastes: for me, the melody was simply amazing. It reminded me of the good old Alesso, thanks to its oldschool attitude. Overall, that’s a quality section, that will work efficiently both in live exhibitions and in casual listeners’ headphones.
Concluding, Glow Records keeps releasing talented producers and we are extremely satisfied by the current situation of this underrated label. Lost Skies and SNRS are two new, promising discoveries, we’ll keep an eye on them!
