Vessbroz & Mark Voss feat. Monika Kiss – Follow Me

October 4, 20192 min read

• Delicate, sweet vocal
• Unexpected vocal chop scheme
• A sparkling personality, combining different vibes altogether

“Follow Me” was unusually promoted and pushed by Revealed, despite being a community release, with the exclusive publication of an official video (rather generic for me, unfortunately). However, I can see why this gem by Vessbroz and Mark Voss deserves a slightly special release!

“Follow Me” has a personality. Its perks are mainly a catchy drop (which we’ll analyze later) and that feeling of being something “out of the box“. I felt a refreshing experience, despite having in front of me a tune that doesn’t exceed with its boundaries.

A great vocal by Monika Kiss begins in the intro, suddenly stopped by delicate supersaws (yes, delicate). There is this balance between an almost big room structure and somewhat sweet and emotional use of samples that took me by surprise. The concept is evident in the drop, where a plucky lead accompanies a bouncy bassline and a unique vocal line. The trio used an almost undistorted chop system, what a great idea! The melody is nonetheless pretty catchy!

It’s a delightful segment; I fell in love with its sparkling personality, capable of fusing the dynamism of the background with a calm and sweet facade. It’s a combination that I rarely see, especially with those dynamics!

“Follow Me,” in the end, is a great release, at least from my point of view. It enters in the Revealed style, with slight influences from big room, but strongly orients towards pop with a creative and talented twist! It’s a thing that KSHMR is doing pretty well, for example — going to keep an eye on Vessbroz & Mark Voss!
