• A standard vocal approach in the break
• Exotic and mysterious supporting flute
• Unexpected bouncy drop
It is not easy, but Jack O’Kings & Sam Helix demonstrated that a classic formula could show pleasant surprises!
This kind of summerish future house breakdown has been so overused in the past that I rarely listen to it for more than a minute, but with “Beautiful” my experience has been different…
Don’t get me wrong, I consider these summery vocal tracks very catchy, but they lack personality. In this case, there is a classic 80’s funky vocal (engaging performance, by the way), and that base. It is a very intriguing base.
A delicate flute accompanies a somewhat mysterious structure. Without overcompensating with aggressiveness, there is a constant furnish of energy and climax for the drop. While listening to it, I was inquisitive to know what’s going to happen next!
Speaking about the drop, I must congratulate Jack O’Kings and Sam Helix! The result is catchy, enjoyable, and with a robust personality. There is a unique imprint, mainly imparted by the innovative lead, and I appreciate the choice. I rarely find new sounds in Future House, especially during the summer, so I was pleasantly impressed. Electro House influences over a bouncy structure, while the delicate melody slightly reminded me of Jay Hardway.
In conclusion, “Beautiful” deserves to be a future house anthem. It has creativity, easily entertains the crowd, and manages to maintain a certain sweetness for the whole duration. Excellent release by Exposed Recordings!
