• Teasing vocal snippet
• Percussion laden arrangement
• Minimal but energetic
The colossal German duo Jewelz & Sparks have their own share of great discography, and this time they have come up with a behemoth of a single. Unveiled in Dutch luminary Afrojack’s imprint Wall Recordings, “Gucci Moves” sticks to the minimal yet intense scheme.
With a leading vocal on the single, it draws parallels to “Safari”, which was released last year as a major collaboration between the duology and Hardwell on Revealed Recordings.
After posting the short teaser of the production on their socials, the dynamic pair left no doubt that they had crafted yet another road-tested and approved instrumental. While getting heavy support from Afrojack himself, the crowd reaction also spoke volumes about it.
Speaking about the arrangements, the breakdown tags along with the pitched down and teasing vocal snippet. Adding to the flavour, drums and percussion build up slowly as the transition happens swiftly. After the expected riser, the drop hits with stabbing and distorted bassline riff, while it gets alternatively complemented by a sonorous and tribal pattern by snares. Involvement of both these elements delivers massive surges of energy, if not rhythm. While the structure of “Gucci Moves” remains the same, the vibrancy doesn’t dimmer thanks to the stamina-infused groove!
Bottomline, “Gucci Moves” has an incisive sound throughout the duration, all credits due to the talented musical deuce!
