QUB3, Quickdrop & B0UNC3 – Stay or Be Alone

May 4, 20212 min read

• Finally, Happy Hardcore in NCS!
• Similar drops without scarce of energy
• Superb vocal presence with variety in lyricism

Today’s review is the consequence of a dilemma I had with two other songs, as I was tempted to review the new Afrojack & David Guetta collaboration (and I expected the unexpected) along with the new offering from Darren Styles. However, this was settled at once as NCS managed to appear on my YouTube recommendations with their latest happy hardcore release, after what seems like two long years. And believe me, the result is fantastic!

After starting this review… yeah, I know this is happy hardcore, but I decided to catalog it as Hardstyle because the former is a subgenre from the latter.

Let’s start with the details then, shall we?

This may sound strange but QUB3 is not a single artist, but rather the Hard Dance synergy founded by the Swedish producers Quickdrop and B0UNC3, both sharing experience in the style (especially Quickdrop) and their efforts are best represented in “Stay or Be Alone”. The track commences with a splendid female vox and the typical Hardstyle intro (I must admit the tune’s structure is similar as every other project in the mentioned scene), fused with a Monstercat like vibe in the melodic riff, a hallmark of most NCS releases.

The drop is extremely catchy, upholding its own personality with a hybrid of Gammer’s style and the recognizable NCS tonality. This section passes the requisites fans are always looking for this kind of productions: danceable, upbeat and euphoric. The vocal demonstrates more creativity and lyrics in the process, making the listener fully invested into the atmosphere and idea.

If you are into NCS and Hard Dance, then it is completely safe to state that QUB3 have managed to appear out of nowhere and reveal a quality work, further fortifying the established reputation of the copyright free imprint!
