• Slow start
• Sweet and magnetic vocal
• Hypnotic drop, elegant and aggressive at the same time
Tribal Trap is one of my favourite labels around, and “Fall For You” is a good example of the quality of its releases. The Dutch label has an impressive roster of talented artists, always exploring new sounds and bringing creative products. It’s a pleasure speaking about them. Today, in fact, we introduce a new name, RYVN, together with a Tribal Trap veteran, Brevis. Their collab, “Fall For You“, impressed me for the particular use of vocal chops… Sweet and hypnotic.
The elegance of its future bass drop (even if it uses an aggressive trap bassline), improved by a sweet vocal performance, is the real point of strenght here. A magnetic vocal loop, difficult to describe with words, keeps evolving with the addition of new elements, bringing personality and creativity to the overall structure. It’s by far my favourite part… In fact, the initial breakdown was slightly too minimal for my tastes, I didn’t have high expectations after the first 30 seconds.
This detail (slow introduction, then a sudden unexpected drop) is particular: it surprised me, and made everything better. “Fall For You” may take a while to impress, but it does its job efficiently. The vocal loop gets stuck in my head, and the contrast between the hard kick and the elegant chords is extremely intriguing.
I never had the chance to talk about Brevis, but finally I can show you the talent of this Bulgarian artist. RYVN added his US vibes as well: he was producing big room in the past, it’s nice to see different approaches altogether.
In conclusion, “Fall For You” is a sweet tune with lots of surprises. A good way to start 2019, with fresh ideas!
