Breviss – Edge

• Oldschool big room
• Excellent dynamism, thanks to the melody
• Slightly lacks in personality, excels in efficiency

It has been a while since I presented some pure, energetic, classic big room. Today Breviss convinced me to bring back some old vibes with “Edge”.

This is a strange review… I always really care about creativity and personality in music, and “Edge”, honestly, uses a classic structure with samples that I heard hundreds of times. However, I like the energy and the dynamism that Breviss put into his creation, so I will close one eye on the concept and focus on what I always like to write about… The sensations.

The big room release by Wasp Records is simple yet effective. The melody, here, is my favourite elements. The notes compose a hypnotic atmosphere, frenetic in the breakdown and darker in the drop. It’s a melody that I’m putting on repeat mode… Things like that one are totally subjective, but I’m sure it will be stuck in someone’s else head as well!

Breviss didn’t risk very much with “Edge”. He presented a classic formula, with the right quality and all the elements in the right place. Being really focused on presenting innovative stuff, I almost forgot how a simple big room tune is able to entertain and amaze as well!

The Turkish producer demonstrated efficiency and a talent in creating energetic melodies and basslines. Next time, I will hope to hear new vibes, but, at the moment, I’m pleasantly satisfied. Good tune!
