76/100
• Groovy vibes, as expected by TS&K
• Particular vocal, somehow funny
• Jazzy vibes in the breakdown part
While trying to not laugh at the funny vocal of “Bingo Bango”, today I want to present this catchy remix from Tom Staar and Kryder. The duo is a familiar name for every groovy fan, having collaborated various times in the past, with excellent results.
Tracks like “Jericho” and their remixes of “Apocalypse 2014” and “Ping Pong” fascinated many EDM lovers, including myself. Today they teamed up another time for an unusual remix.
In fact, the remixed tune is “Bingo Bango” from Basement Jaxx, another important name in the scene. Even if the vocal sounds curiously funny to me, I consider it a nice classic… In fact I was already a fan of the original version, even if it’s not really my kind of EDM.
Luckily, TS&K put their expert hands on it, reworking the production with experience and wisdom. The original vibes are conserved, the vocal loop has been valorized, and loyal fans will find their signature style everywhere.
We can immediately notice how the drop has been changed: groovy percussions, hypnotic bassline and vocal loop, and that magic trumpet capable to add elegance and a pinch of melancholy. It gets easily stuck in the ears, in my humble opinion. The bi-bi-bi-bingo loop made me giggle, but in the end, I found it an excellent choice, because of its engaging rhythm. Classic TS&K vibes here.
This catchiness is even more noticeable during the breakdown, when a jazzy piano begins playing. It’s a simple concept, but nonetheless classy and captivating.
The “Bingo Bango” remix by Tom Staar and Kryder is extremely enjoyable, in conclusion. Their signature sound works well with the original vibe, even if I was hoping for something slightly more experimental… Since the old version had many particular elements to be reused in creative ways!
However, I’m quite satisfied with this new Kryteria release. I hope it’s the same for you!
