And the Ting goes skraap as the well-known duo JAGGSput out another groovy and dynamic tune in Revealed recordings. I won’t deny the kinetic in the tuneS they have been releasing this year. Look at their previous release “Doinky”, which came out 5 months ago in the Revealed Festival EP, for example. I really relished that tune, it was both funky and aggressive in my opinion.
JAGGS have a signature funky style, but striking and catchy. The new release, titled “TING!”, is an electro house tune laced with splendid elements. There is no doubt that this two producers experiment a lot in their project, using different sounds to chalk out a perfect and unique beat.
Starting with an intro with kick-clap loop with a tinkling pluck in the background, it soon catches up pace with an acid like bass synth coming underneath, giving a solid groove right from the start. Various elements and FXs have been alongside used to make the intro an interesting one. The intro fades away with a white noise uplifer, entering a breakdown inspiring tension in the atmosphere, thanks to the distorted pad in the backdrop. A vocal snippet comes in and starts looping, perfectly letting offbeat bass glide underneath it. More of a psytrance style but energetic.
The vocal again loops rapidly to make a smooth transition into the second breakdown. This time, a total contrast to the first one, introduces a breakbeat with a pitched vocal chop. The saw synths come in without delay, playing over in a fashionable catchy manner. The riser drops in just in time, and perfectly escalates into the second drop which amazed me even more!
The second drop, goes full hard on with hardstyle kicks, like a hard house drop. This hulking hard drop brings more energy and stamina into the track. Remarkable idea indeed!
JAGGS have certainly displayed how experimental they can be with this vivid tune. They perhaps broke away from contemporary electro house norms to make a stand out track. “TING!” is definitely my favourite release in Revealed this month!
