Hellblasterz – We’re Warriors

January 13, 20202 min read

• Quality Hardstyle mixed with Psy-Trance
• Captivating old-school vocal
• Softer structure than expected, suitable with Revealed Radar

While expressing our displeasure with the Revealed Radar re-branding, we got strangely fascinated by the new Hellblasterz’s track on it. Thus, almost ironically, we are speaking again about the Revealed sub-label whose motive focuses on promoting rising talents.

My opinion of the label’s concept remains in line with my colleague’s: with these generic arts and an exaggerated flow of releases, finding gems like “We’re Warriors” is becoming increasingly difficult. In fact, I stumbled on the Hardstyle release by chance, when I clicked on the YouTube video to see the new design animation. But today I’m talking about music, not the business choices made by the management.

“We’re Warriors” is a banger from every aspect, utilizing the new trend for the genre, the “Psy-Trance with melodic Hardstyle added in for good measures” structure, but with astonishing quality. There is a reason why this Spanish duo has earned its third release on an imprint where 150 BPM is a rare presence.

A captivating, efficiently performing vocal finds an interesting connection with a brutal lead in a matter of seconds. The triplet bassline rhythm’s zest faded rather quickly when compared with the energetic melodic final segment, a real pleasure to my ears. We are still encountering a more velvety cut of Hardstyle than usual with a scheme that, in my opinion, didn’t exaggerate aggression with distorted bass and screeches… However the outcome is extremely powerful, the combination all-set for a non-Hardstyle brand like the Radar.

A brew of catchy melody, splendid vocal but predictable Psy-Trance that still manages to be fun and satisfying… “We’re Warriors” is standardized, yet finely produced instrumental that hopefully will aid more of the commonplace audience discover this underrated genre.
