Plastik Funk is no amateur: being a well-known producer in the scene (most notably for the hit “Who” with Tujamo), he has a solid reputation but his recent works went under my radar. Until, this particular song showed up and established how great the said producer is. Inpetto, however, are a German duo (Mixmash, Cr2) whose fame alone make them noteworthy (special thanks to the guy who submitted this again).
“I’ll Be The One” playfully diversifies its structure to different genres that can be symmetrically divided in pieces, and still be enjoyable. A sweet introduction fits more in the lane of Progressive House (the vocal is by far the perfect additive, catchy lyrics and melody), then a Piano House segment spices up the recipe with a powerful and bouncy rhythm. The drop naturally comes off as danceable and catchy, while nostalgia isn’t amiss with a female shout vox adding Disco hype.
Later into the tune, there is a Techno-Bass House portion that easily is my favourite part in the production with the piano hook. I can bet that one will remember the lyrics of this tune even after the first listen, providing enough evidence as to its fetching and refreshing quality.
Plastik Funk and Inpetto took sound-selection and arrangements and dialed it up to another notch: “I’ll Be The One” has an alluring vocal and operates in a mixture of styles ranging from Future to Piano House, ending with a sweeter conclusion than most will expect. Again, a must listen for everyone!
