DALEXO – Back to Paradise (Beemow Remix)

March 31, 20212 min read

• Romantic lyrics, contrasting vocal pitch
• Piano melody is simply, a plus
• Effective drop, emotional breakdown

It has been much time since I talked about any particular musical output from my native country. Spanish scene seems to be on another edge this year, as I must admit that a lot of the producers from the scene are making major and heavy improvements. On my search for demonstrating this occurrence, I stumbled on a remix EP from DALEXO, which features a delectable twist of “Back to Paradise” from an interesting up and coming alias named Beemow.

On an closer introspection, the vocal have been considerably transformed and pitched down, resembling that of a Slap House rework. Luckily, this vocal change fits better than the original, adhering to the futuristic aesthetic.

Slap House type vocal + Slowly elevating breakdown = Winning combination!

The said segment before the build-up is quite splendidly placed (perhaps inspired from Melodic Techno) with a sudden transition into Future House synths, making it truly pleasant. I expected the drop to be less euphoric than the final outcome, but the energetic hook doesn’t break the charming vibes Beemow cleverly crafted!

However, the drop resorts to a simpler style akin to Spinnin’ era Hexagon, being effective with vocal chops in its own terms. Some may find the structure repetitive, and in my opinion it does to an extent. After the enjoyable round of the first drop, the second half sticks to the same patterns and includes only a few variances. But if I had to sum up, Beemow’s take on the original “Back to Paradise” has a distinct vibe worth listening, and perhaps he will improve and adapt upon this signature in future releases.
