ASHWYN – Catch Me (ft. Preston Gigante)

January 24, 20202 min read

• Presence of analog sounds
• Entrancing guitar solo
• Splendid vocals backed by vintage and catchy instrumental

With the ever-evolving modernisation of music, there have been newer genres and even more divisions and rifts in it. However, some musicians have taken it up to themselves to revive the vintage and infuse it with the best of the contemporary. We have such an example with us today, from none other than the Indian alias ASHWYN. Known for delving passionately into the synth-pop genus, he has constructed yet another memorable song. “Catch Me” has been made together with his colleague Preston Gigante, who partook in providing the lively vocal.

There’s no denying that the synthwave-era of music was nothing short of golden. Despite having earnest beginnings almost fifty years ago, the unmistakable analog-organic sound cannot be surpassed. New wave music still gets hefty credit for revolutionising the industry, and up and coming acts such as ASHWYN have made it a duty to make the newfangled generation of audience enlightened. Coming to his discography, we talked about his collaboration with the reputed Quentyn (1/2 of erstwhile Volt & State) last year. “Catch Me” more or less extends the classic style, leaning slightly more to pop.

Beginning with cordial and warm strings, the polyphonic synth sound materializes with a certain charm, along with the vocal. Drum arrangements enter the scene mildly until an elegant fill kick-starts things. Then enters a robust bassline, firing up the percussions and other assortments. The atmosphere can be only described in one fitting word here: classy! Added to that is hooking guitar riff performance, which is bound to enthral any listener! The attention to details is more than discernible, adding a polished and cadence-rich tone to this track.

With this, we conclude that “Catch Me” is a display of pure talent and creativity here, making us equally anxious for what ASHWYN has in store for future!
