January 3, 20202 min read

• Fetching groove in drop segment
• Pleasant and memorable vocal presence
• Unexpected but shuffling pace in the rhythm

The dawn of this new decade surely guarantees the up and coming record producers plenty of opportunities, which will bring the much-needed vibrancy to the ever-evolving industry. For this specific article, we will be covering the latest release from Swedish upstart Laureano. Involving the joint-effort of native artist YARO and vocalist Maline, “Think Twice” is one of those high-octane productions, with an inclination towards the contemporary House music.

The mention of YARO may ring a bell among many of the readers here, when the Stockholm based producer collaborated with the renowned solo act Manse for the making of “Summer Rain”, released on Revealed Recordings imprint. On the other hand, we have Laureano, whose speciality lies in concocting radio-friendly compositions. Both of the aforementioned individuals have worked together beforehand. Furthermore, the latter has made a heavy reputation in Sweden with his DJing performances in various esteemed clubs.

With the saturation of Deep House creations in the scene, what attracted us for “Think Twice”? Putting aside the often beguiling and polished mass-attracting timbre, which aids in the heavy-rotation, we also found many appreciable elements within the song. With the breakdown being dominated by the pleasant and soulful vox from Maline, the leading segment is an absolute ear-candy. Supplemented with alluring vocal chops and chord progression, the bassline takes the significant role of adding a brisk and unexpected pace to the rhythm. Utilizing metallic, resonant and low-end driven bass synths to achieve this, the hook segment nevertheless provides plenty of pleasure to groove and dance-along to. The vocal melody did seem to feel overwhelming at the first listen, however it fits as any jigsaw would to a puzzle, and hence be complementing rather than disconcerting.

As for our concluding thoughts on this one, this particular synergy has definitely been successful in creating an appealing track for the clubs. That being said, this instrumental has been embedded with the capacity to entertain the dance-floor, without any second thoughts!
