Waxel – Ignite

October 16, 20212 min read

• Heartfelt vocal presence
• Energetic old-school drop
• Promising début in Radar!

Among various new talents, Waxel happens to be a distinctive personality that caught my eye some weeks ago. He happened to share his releases in our Discord community for a while now, and after listening to those, I can say that he is certainly a passionate producer who deserves your attention with his old-school Progressive House approach. This Lebanese producer recently debuted in Revealed Radar with a stunning record called “Ignite”, a more vocal-oriented track than usual from his assortment of productions.

For instance, look at the creativity with lyricism. Waxel managed to instill a commercial tone to the song without sacrificing memorable and creative songwriting, which dispels any kind of repetitiveness alongside a lively vocal performance from an uncredited singer. The dreamy ambiance works fantastic and the rather exquisite breakdown is immediately appreciable.

In brief, consider “Ignite” as the fire emoji one likes to spam after listening to an explosive piece of dance music. It is an energetic and powerful festival bomb, but also checks on the delicate and heartwarming side of things, making it quite arresting. Probably, the build-up isn’t as intense as I expected and sets for more of a melancholic mood than usual.

Anyways, Waxel offered us a surprising refreshment from Radar, which otherwise has been lacking quality outputs recently. An elegant potpourri of sentiments and genuine lyrics combined with dynamite of a drop, there are no doubts left that “Ignite” is the definite pick for Revealed’s sub-label.
