Dubvision & Firebeatz – Lambo

December 19, 20192 min read

• Creative sound selection
• Peculiar but rhythmic vocal melody
• Minimalist structure

The esteemed duets Firebeatz and their native colleagues DubVision have teamed up again, after their preceding release as the supergroup alias “METAFO4R”, a hulking and vigorous production named “Rave Machine”. After their collaborations, these two talented artists have concocted and came up with an energetic and groovy production suited for the clubs worldwide, purposefully titled as “Lambo”.

Last week EDM Reviewer talked about how the aforementioned act started by these two dynamic pair have not received any further updates for a considerable amount of time. It was quite unexpected to see them separated on this STMPD release, nonetheless, I was not dissuaded from keeping a negative bias towards the production. As usual, there is no compromise of quality, and it as experimental as their very first synergy “Rockin”, which became a breakthrough hit for the either on Spinnin’ Records. The chemistry shared between these guys are absolutely jubilant and quite creative!

“Lambo” reminded me funnily of yet another work, but by the heavyweight KURA. The Portuguese solo presented a whole different House-y timber from his usual signature, and this build and model of “Lambo” has struck to differentiate as well! The minimal touch to the arrangements, thanks to the vocalic rhythm throughout, gives a whole another refreshing vibe. Bass House would be the term for this assortment, but that would be subjective. The particular highlight of the composition throughout is the vocoded and robotic chop which leads the climatic segment, along with the shuffling pluck-y bassline.

Overall, “Lambo” is evidently an ingenious House belter, which functions on a few but modest and well-selected components, taking the edge on other similar creations.
