Is This the End for METAFO4R?

December 12, 20192 min read

Firebeatz’s motives have been a mystery during this year. They founded Ignite Records on a high note, released a couple of songs in there… And then came the complete inactivity of it since June.

Furthermore, they created the supergroup METAFO4R with native luminaries Dubvision, and few beloved live-sets and two promising productions later… Guess what? All other developments about the project got no further updates.

Like the other team-ups such as “SHM” or “3 Are Legends” have taught us, these kind of prominent groups are difficult and often cumbersome to manage. A sizzling rumour floating around has given us the impression that the once-thriving synergy METAFO4R, after less than a year, has been apparently concluded.

In fact, Firebeatz and Dubvision are going to release “Lambo” on Garrix’s STMPD RCRDS this very Friday. The interesting detail is that they have used their artists’ names separately this time, and not their so formed preceding titular alliance.

The supergroup is exclusively signed to Spinnin’ and this may mean that they are circumscribed from bringing it to other labels, sure. But why then “Lambo” has not been released on the renowned Dutch label instead?

The bass house style perhaps better suits with STMPD, however, that could hardly be the reason. It’s highly unlikely that Spinnin’ isn’t accepting a production from one of the most appreciated assemblages in recent years.

The split names on “Lambo”, the inarticulacy on their socials, the fact that there aren’t any scheduled events for the quartet, all relevantly hints to the off-putting but the obvious outcome: we presumably won’t be seeing any more of the aforementioned squad.

We have to conclude that the respective duets have decided to go on with their solo projects, while maintaining their good relationship, as we can see in their joint-effort. The reason is still unknown, until further validation…

📝 A final conclusion or just a temporary hiatus? What do you think about that? Let us know in the comments!
