Futuristic Polar Bears, Cuebrick & Angie Vu Ha – Obliviate

October 29, 20192 min read

• Halloween vibes
• Boisterous drop segments
• Esoteric involvement of Angie Vu Ha

The end of October made no delays to arrive, and with it came the annual celebration of Halloween. This becomes a high-time for many brands in the industry to promote their products, and music industry is no stranger to this concept. Today our focus will be singular upon the new synergy from none other than Cuebrick, the German solo-act, and British duo-logy Futuristic Polar Bears and US-based Angie Vu Ha. An unexpected team-up, but the final result has certainly spoken for itself.

We have two renowned creators here in this dynamic joint-effort. Cuebrick has made an unforgettable impression on his audience, thanks to his uplifting Progressive House productions like “T-Shirt” and “Runaway. Diverging our attention to the other half, we have the mentioned English pair who have kept a steady stream of ardent Electro House additions to their discography. In the entirety of this collaboration, however, Angie Vu Ha seems to be oddly present in this. She made a come back last year after a seven-year hiatus. Her presence is somehow incomprehensible in this composition, making her involvement dubious.

Digressing from this point, now we come to the instrumental. Not necessarily venturing out of the genre’s boundary, the breakdown presents a chiming hook for the ears, emanating an eerie and unearthly vibe. The intense saw synths follow thereafter, extending the stamina. Following thereafter, the drop section introduces a strident riff assisted by boisterous synths, upholding the vibrancy and the robust festival timbre one can expect.

In the end, “Obliviate” performs well enough to be a suitable weapon for the DJ gigs, with the exception of being withheld by somewhat less experimentation. Nonetheless, an admirable release from the CMMD imprint.
