“Piece Of Your Heart” is one of the biggest hits of 2019, at least in the EDM world. The vocal is fascinating, and even if my taste is far from Meduza’s deep house, the sequence hypnotized me.
We can all agree that the track is incredibly catchy!
Today, the group Jaxx & Vega – Stefan Bors – OUTRAGE put their hands over the calm hit and released an explosive festival version. I’m usually cautious about reworks that destroy the original concept (as has happened in this case), but I’m so in love with the drop that I decided to close not one, but both my eyes on that.
A festival mix is what we were expecting from such experienced producers: we mean Quality Bigroom. We have recently spoken about OUTRAGE’s dark touch, we have already appreciated Bors through a couple of his catchy Revealed.dj releases, while J&V are probably the most famous name here – stable members of the Smash The House roster. Their style is aggressive, powerful, and always has something capable to light up a live exhibition!
The familiar vocal, unfortunately, is only used in the cinematic breakdown… Then, classic supersaws begin playing, introducing us to a pre-drop sequence capable of encapsulating us with its charming personality! The drop, finally, features an elaborate melodic scheme that is a real pleasure to the ears. A magnetic, brutal structure that destroys the original calm with an almost ironically exaggerated dynamism – which in this case miraculously works well.
I’m more a fan of club-friendly tracks. I think that MEDUZA’s work is simply out of the world on this one, but the quintet brought to us a significant big room transposition that will work fantastically in festivals. I expect (and hope, because it’s entertaining) to hear it in some significant events!
