• Mike Williams influences in the main lead
• A robust, energetic, powerful approach
• Slightly slow melody, still capable of hypnotizing
Tracks like “Don’t Hold Me Down” are the reason why I started reviewing, and I still love my hobby. Sure, speaking about famous tunes is nice, but valorizing talents like D3GORAN, hugely underrated, are the little joys of being a blogger. When some of you write to me saying, “Hey, I discovered * because of you, thanks“, I remember why I am blogging every day.
Anyway, I hope that some of you will be as amazed as I am with the style of this Polish producer. After some minor releases on smaller labels, this is his first debut on Future House Cloud, a label that often presented us with exciting artists.
First of all, let’s admit a thing: I love Mike Williams style. It’s always full of delight and happiness, and at the same time, he maintains an energetic structure. D3GORAN keeps drawing some inspiration from him, as is evident in other releases like “Hyperion“, but adds some of his personality in a way that I truly loved.
“Don’t Hold Me Down” adds more aggressiveness in the drop while keeping a sweet feeling, thanks to the delicate vocal fills. It’s like a more energetic Mike Williams, noticeably so from the similar lead. The melody is somehow slower than expected (nonetheless, incredibly catchy), the bassline is excellent, and the overall quality reaches high peaks. The overall feeling is “bouncy“, and I had the urge to dance while listening to its captivating structure.
I finished my experience with “Don’t Hold Me Down” pretty satisfied. D3GORAN and his ideas have been added to my “ones to watch list”. His energetic style shows the essence of “bounce” in “Future Bounce”… It’s a sort of “return to roots“, back when the genre was more “big room oriented” than now. There is room for developing this signature sound, which is still stuck to the boundaries of the genre, but I have faith in D3GORAN’s improvements.
