The German producer Jaylife released an interesting bootleg of “Kids In Love”, the Kygo summer hit in collaboration with Maja Francis & The Night Game.
The original was an awesome and emotional tune, but Jaylife worked on a progressive level. Adding his signature sound and personality, of course!
It’s necessary to say that the Kygo’s track was potentially suitable for a progressive remix. It’s more dynamic than usual, with a catchy piano and clear progressive influences. That’s why I was personally waiting for a good edit of “Kids In Love”!
The vocal is incredible: Jaylife used it as heard in the Kygo’s version, and then, with a clever transition, brought to the table his personal drop. I liked this choice, it valorized Kygo’s work, and the superb vocal sounds very genuine at the same time.
The melody remains the same, but in the drop, Jaylife free all his amazing talent.
The progressive lead is solid and magnificent, the whole remix focus on it. A lovely drop, as in Jaylife classic style. It consists of using the original melody, and working on the structure instead. This may sound simple, but it’s pretty difficult to master instead. Jaylife added an insane amount of energy to the relaxing Kygo tune, speeding up the base and completely reworking all the elements.
The particular I loved is how the vocal, from being relaxing, becomes really energetic and passionate in Jaylife version. You can notice in the drop, especially, how it has been transformed. In my opinion, this is an improvement.
