Wildcrow X Maski & Banga – Khuli

March 17, 20192 min read

• Bouncy Electro House drop
• Catchy ethnic vocal loops
• Exotic and entertaining

Back we are with tribal vibes! If you are a careful EDM Reviewer observer, you should already know who Wildcrow is… Eric Rodriguez, a talented artist we had presented various times before he changed his stage name. If you are a true stalker (we have only spoken about them in an Instagram story), you may know Maski & Banga for their release “Persia“.

The trio teamed up for a brutal Electro House release, with tribal vibes from the Portuguese duo. It’s included in Ensis Miami Sampler, a nice compilation of 7 festival tracks. We picked our favourite, “Khuli”. The structure is what we called “KURA-style“: squeaky lead, bouncing bassline, heavy drums, foreign influence. However, Wildcrow and Maski & Banga added personality to the formula, with an original vocal composition, different vibes and a melodic pattern that infuses dynamism to the overall result. It’s a nice drop; we must admit that: creative, yet devastating when played live. The kick is massive!

The following breakdown is tricky. If you don’t like the repetitive vocal, then, we have bad news: it’s the central element. However, we found it rather catchy, despite being just a short segment for introducing the next drop.

In conclusion, “Khuli” is a good collaboration. Both styles fit well together; the overall atmosphere is dynamic and energetic; the output is enjoyable and entertaining. One of our favourite Ensis releases, recently!
