Winning Team – Strobe

78/100

• Good atmosphere in the breakdown
• Cool sound design
• Regular big room structure

Unfortunately, some artists don’t have the success they deserve. In my opinion, this is the case of Winning Team. They have demonstrated us lots of times that they have talent, fresh ideas and a really good sound, but it seems that those things weren’t enough to get their deserved success. Today we are talking about their latest banger, “Strobe”, released on the Ensis Records ADE Sampler.

Following a common big room structure, this tune starts with the first build up just after the intro. We can hear the main melody filtered, together with some really cool and well-panned snares. Right after that, the powerful drop starts. I really liked the stabs, they are not the typical ones and they make the drop more original. Some bouncy leads play a signature Winning Team melody, which is catchy and a bit dark. I expected a trap variation in the second part of the drop, but they managed to just add more percussions.

Talking about the break, it is a really good example of how to make a good atmospheric and melodic transition in a big room track, followed by some aggressive leads that are playing a different melody from the drop one, which is really appreciated. After that, the second drop and build up are almost the same as the ones at the first part of the track.

I had a really good time listening to “Strobe”, enjoying a lot some little details that usually make the difference between a standard tune and a good one. I have been following Winning Team for quite some time right now, and trust me that I’ll continue doing so if they make more tracks like this.
