88/100
• Violinssssss
• Astonishing vocal performance
• Spectacular and creative trap drop
I’m really digging the recent Tribal Trap releases! This time it’s the turn of 2Scratch and M.I.M.E, two veterans of the Dutch label. Their hit “Too Alive” is on repeat mode for days on my Spotify… I can’t stop listening to it!
Violinssssss.
I love them, I consider them the most elegant instruments around, capable to add that melancholic and classy touch to almost everything. 2Scratch used them to create a slow, hypnotic and solemn atmosphere, and M.I.M.E rapped over it with his experience and talent.
I must be honest: I was crazy about “Too Alive” even before the drop, which is the main element. M.I.M.E is extremely able in his job, and the violin loop is stuck in my head since Monday. The drop, however, takes everything to another level!
This structure is typical of 2Scratch, but if you don’t know him yet, you will be amazed by its freshness. A distorted vocal begins to play, while a massive bassline smashes the last hopes to not give a high rating to this bomb. It’s the icing on a superb cake, cooked by the German artist.
2Scratch already impressed me with “Last Man Standing“, I wasn’t expecting to find something even better! But you know, the EDM world is full of surprises.
“Too Alive” is spectacular. Creative, elegant yet aggressive in the right moment, with a stunning vocal and a perfect choice of samples. What a release!
