• Big Room re-work of the iconic anthem
• Excellent balance between original vibes and FTB influence
• Energetic, slight variations adding a different flavour
With a new Monday, we have another list of exciting releases to talk about. In this article, we will be specifically talking about an energetic remix which finally has seen the light of the day. It is the rework of the iconic anthem of 2013, “Mammoth”. Produced by the Belgium power-duo Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike in collaboration with the German Moguai, the stage-tearing instrumental became one of the most remarkable works from the respective artists. Today, we get another pumping version of this song, revamped by the British trio Futuristic Polar Bears.
Talking about the original work wouldn’t be necessary here. “Mammoth” turned out to gather a momentous appreciation for its attributes, and further got a vocal version in the following year (known as “Body Talk”). Just a couple of years later, the Belgium pair played a robust and alternative big room twist of the track, but unfortunately, it remained just another ID to be pondered about. However, this year finally shone the light as it was released after a long wait, convincing the fans of its existence.
Now, about this remix. The significant difference is obviously the big room approach, which utilizes hard-driving and dominant synths to play the original melody. To add variations, some notes deviate, embedding slightly distinct flavour. Thereafter, comes the breakdown, in which an orchestral vibe is generated with atmospheric elements. Violins and vocal take over for a dose of elegance, while at the same time building on the energy. As expected, the original melody leads the rest, swiftly changing over to the riser for the last drop.
In few words, this interpretation stands out to be a more aggressive and strapping re-work, adeptly fit for the festival and club gigs in near future.
