Known for their unique groove and swirling sound, the Dutch talented pair Tom & Jame have crafted another interesting production, which is slightly different from their usual tracks but nonetheless, alluring. Pairing with the renowned vocalist Alice Berg, the duo delivered a delectable result, titled “Never Look Back”.
Released on Dannic’s Fonk Recordings a few days back, the duo managed to maintain their impressive record so far this year. “Never Look Back” brings into view the melodic side of them, but nonetheless keeping intact their signature rhythmic sounds. “Never Look Back” incorporates progressive house vibes in the breakdown, while the drop introduces the listener to a future house like drop, yet with the progressive charm in it. This experimental attribute of the track overall is impressive.
It starts with a sing-along breakdown, consisting of the elegant and charming vocal from Alice Berg, while the calm but intensifying background compliments the vocal simultaneously. An engaging atmosphere works perfectly around the vocal as the track swirls towards the swanky drop. The drop materializes in the most perfect manner possible, bringing in its peppy and relishing components.
Talking of the drop, it pushes this track to a whole new level. While the listener may expect a strong typical progressive part, but the riser hints towards a more creative and lively one. First of all, the melody has a future house swing to it even though the synths aren’t totally like what usual progressive house saw-synths are. But that’s not all! Tom & Jame adeptly kept the dynamic accent of progressive house in the backdrop, making it even more interesting and kinetic.
“Never Look Back” genuinely blurs the line between genres without compensating on its dynamism, but at the same time doesn’t fail to amuse the listener to an imposing extent!
