• Hardstyle twist of one of the most successful Revealed releases of 2017
• Disappointed by the vocal, but amazed by the drops
• Being an old free download, part of the “magic” has been lost
Strange, strange, strange release.
“Love Is Dead” was actually an unusual track for Hardwell’s label Revealed Recordings, a unique mix between festival big room and hard house, produced by Junkie Kid and 4B.
Even though fans weren’t used to this intriguing genre, the original got major appreciation, and in addition, also received a free remix by LNY TNZ.
This Dutch hardstyle (with trap influences) duo is a stable member of Barong Family and personally one of our favorites around. We complimented their skills various times, for example in their latest release “Rebels Of A Nation”. Evidently, LNY TNZ has decided to explore major labels: after Barong and Spinnin’, we see them on Revealed!
Their “Love Is Dead” remix is, being honest… Not a surprise. Apart from the fact that we know is since it was released as a free download some months ago, so this killed part of the “magic”, the vocal just doesn’t satisfy us. The hip-hoppish Shots added by the duo, for us, clash with the original mysterious one. Not a great choice.
Apart from this detail, the drop is satisfying.
A classic LNY TNZ hard kick adds some bounciness to the original structure, then escalating in a more complex approach in the following sequence. It’s definitely an acceptable remix from the duo, but we were expecting something more, being a Revealed release.
We consider the “Love Is Dead” remix by LNY TNZ a good free download gift, but the idea of releasing it again as an official release left us a bit confused and happy, at the same time, for seeing this talented duo on one of our favorite labels, of course!
