Selena Gomez & Marshmello – Wolves (Danny Avila Remix)

“Wolves” by Marshmello and Selena Gomez has been one of the biggest hits in 2017. A lovely pop tune, which reached the Top 10 status in UK and hit the Top 20 of Billboard’s Hot 100.

However, EDM fans felt that the song needed some more ”Electronic“ elements. In the successive months, we have seen hundreds of remixes… Some of them were bad, some others were very good!
Our choice of today talks about one of the ”very good“ remixes. The Spanish producer Danny Avila put his hands on “Wolves”, and we enjoyed his final edit.

This remix comes after some months, and it may sound surprising (the hype for ”Wolves“ has died out)… But it’s a good idea. Danny Avila probably decided to postpone it and take some time to work on details, and let the track acquire more personality. Since the trend has passed, his remix doesn’t enter in a saturated context, making it already appreciated by fans and big djs!

Speaking about the remix, Danny Avila worked in a clever way. He added a melodic future house structure to the remix, with elegant violins in the buildup (great idea!) and energetic chords supporting Selena Gomez’s vocal. The buildup is our favourite part, emotional and hyping.

The drop is not particularly creative, being honest, but well made and catchy. The melody plays a joyful scheme, delivering sweet and entertaining vibes. A good remix, suitable for clubs: it mixes a very popular vocal together with a catchier and more EDM approach, and the result is really satisfying!
