Dyro’s new collaboration with GTA is very difficult to review. On one side, we are fascinated to hear such an interesting song on Spinnin’… On the other side, we feel the enormous complexity of “Talkin’ Bout” and its innovative style clashes too much with the label’s play-it-safe mentality.
The trap tune is creative and futuristic as we expected. Dyro always presents innovative sounds and his unique imprint is easily recognisable here. GTA added their splendid influence too by delivering an unusual duality to the mood of the track. This could be the biggest USP as well as the biggest problem of “Talkin’ Bout”: there’s too much innovation in a single release.
The mysterious break lacks a vocal, but does its job in a good way, by building up to an energetic mood which is perfect for the drop. Dyro’s fans will surely like this aggressive structure, which makes it further weird to see it on Spinnin’ instead of WOLV.
The trap drop presents an interesting combination of various elements. Complex, but with a clear expression of influences from the producers involved. The rhythm is slow, but the brutality of the scheme together with some trap add-ons makes it quite enjoyable.
Its presence on Spinnin’ catalogue is a mystery. “Talkin’ Bout” is a creative song, but not at all suitable for Spinnin’s massive fanbase. We hope that these fans will finally notice the interesting mentality of Dyro and GTA, because their unique style is definitely a fascinating aspect of the EDM world.
