Today, let us plunge back to our childhood with this fantastic remix of the MGMT 2003 hit, titled “Kids”, remixed by the English producer CODEKO.
The original tune is acoustic pop, but this remix aims towards a future bass energetic mood.
I was a big fan of “Kids”, I discovered it pretty late (just 4-5 years ago) but I am still in love with its unique atmosphere. CODEKO reworked it in the right way, adding his style and freshness, but still keeping the happy and genuine vibes that only “Kids” can give!
Starting with a snippet of the original track, the energy with trap beat coming in, with the vocal on top of it. Slowly getting the pace, the drop comes in perfectly. The drop, equipped with typical future bass saw and groove, keeping the original melody but played by the saw. Somewhat emotional, the said happy-ish vibes are the result of this well-produced drop.
My final thoughts on this remix would be that it’s a respectful but innovative tribute. I felt the passion tht CODEKO put behind the structure, the love for one of the best pop songs ever, and I’m really happy to present you this refreshing edit!
