Mike Williams — Melody (Tip Of My Tongue)

October 22, 20172 min read

80/100

The Dutch prodigious talent Mike Williams, who has impacted the EDM industry with his bouncy and melodic sounds, has returned with another subsequent banger. Keeping his melodic style intact, he once again displays his matchless skills in future bounce genre, as always. I really appreciate “Melody”, another good result from this young artist!

The track has, as usual, attractive and alluring elements to keep you hooked. “Melody” also features a catchy female vocal, which smoothly makes the breakdown even subtle. The drop, on the other hand, focuses entirely on melodies, without compromising energy.

As the track starts, a clean bright dance piano greets. Playing out chords in a jazzy fashion, the riser comes in to escalate the track to the drop. The drop, featuring typical future bounce synths, playing out the melody with efficacy. I was somehow a bit critical of the synths at first, but the catchy melody and the groovy bassline made it up for me. The overall drop is kept up a good pace and energy, as you can expect from Mike Williams track, although more melody is driven.

The breakdown particularly focuses on the female vocal. Pads and an arp synth play out in the backdrop, as the vocal slowly leads towards the second drop. Pausing briefly, the second riser comes on the scene to let the drop impact. The breakdown, in my opinion, makes the track more vivid.

Concluding, I would say that this track lived up to my expectations, however, it might be not the best from Mike Williams’s productions. Nonetheless, it still is a catchy track with a lot of groove to make it stand out.
