Quintino & Nervo – Lost In You (The Lost Triplets Remix)

The last choice of this week is a future bass bootleg. Since I presented a lot of genres (hardstyle, progressive, trap, big room, future house) I felt it was fair to share something of this popular genre too. This bootleg is pretty special because theoretically, it isn’t a bootleg. The Lost Triplets, a young Indian duo, won the “Lost In You” remix contest, so this is an official remix, supported by the label and the artists. Spinnin’ never actually released it, so it’s still classified as a bootleg.

Anyway, I wanted to make sure to present you something good, not the generic future bass stuff. I’m pretty sure this is a nice example of talent and musical ability. First of all, The Lost Triplets won the contest without having a huge number of fans, their career is still newborn. That’s another sign of their quality.

Second, this is CREATIVE future bass. I find it very elegant and harmonic, with a complex structure that manages to keep, without many difficulties, a fresh mood. The vocal chops are insane, every detail has been studied and created in a clever way, it’s easy to imagine the massive amount of work behind the track.

The break is interesting too: it’s quite minimal, just some trap hats and a calm piano. I personally loved the idea, because it creates a clash between minimalism and complexity, dividing the remix into two distinct parts. The Lost Triplets reworked “Lost In You” in a particular and interesting way, and they deserved to be the winner. I hope to see them on Spinnin’, in future!
