I wasn’t expecting future bass, but I must admit that I was very excited for “Don’t Let Me Go”. I love Wasback style, and I’m a big fan of Tom Swoon music since when he still was Pixel Cheese… So, obviously, I was hoping for a banger.
The result is something more introvert and experimental than I was thinking about, but still delightful. This is the future bass I want: creative, emotional, and that manages to share emotions. The drop, with the superb Wasback style lead, is energetic and ready to impress.
It’s a pretty slow drop, but still very powerful. It discharges a huge amount of energy, typical of progressive house producers, and with a singular melody, it becomes my favorite part of the track.
It almost seems a progressive house track slowed down to 100 BPM: the rhythm is chillier and more relaxing, but the power, the energy, the fire, are still there.
I can’t forget to talk about the break, too: here, even if it’s a classic break, very sentimental and calm, the vocal is the real element that brings that part to another level. The unknown singer made a super job, even if using simple lyrics: she really managed to entertain me with a solid performance.
In conclusion, I dig “Don’t Let Me Go”. It’s an elegant production, with a creative lead, an amazing melody, and the right personality. So, even if in the depths of my heart I was hoping for a progressive house track, I really recommend it, the artists involved made a great job!
