VINAI x Carnage – Time For The Techno

The two Italian producers Alessandro & Andrea VINAI are back at their bounce style after doing some experimental future bass and I’m not disappointed at all. They teamed up with Carnage and the result is aggressive but so damn catchy.
Contrary to what the title suggests, “Time For The Techno” is not a techno track at all, even though there are some elements like the main drop synth which can be associated with techno, and that’s very enjoyable in my opinion.

In the beginning, the track hasn’t a fast pace, it starts slowly with a classic breakdown and some average big room synths and with the little snares in the background that add such a tension, it really makes you wanna hear the rest.

And then, when the main melody of the breakdown starts to fade out for the break, the weird techno synth I meant previously appears, and that’s one of the little problems of this track because when you hear this part, the drop is really predictable.
Anyway, it remains very catchy, and it’s impressive to see how many background elements there is during that part, the sirens, around 3 or 4 different layers, and it remains very dark and very unique contrary to what VINAI or Carnage produced in the past (remember Bounce Generation or Louder).
Also, we can hear the pre-drop vocal coming in the background and just after the real break starts, with a faster beat with a classic big room layout but very efficient.

When I heard the drop for the first time, it really blew my mind and I felt like it was pretty simple but if you listen well, I think it’s pretty hard to give a definite genre to it.

“Time For The Techno” probably refers to VINAI’s other track “Techno” and Carnage’s track “The Underground” with Alvaro which also had a unique aggressive sound. The second part keeps the main synth but with a trap beat and bassline, that’s why it’s hard to classify the genre.

The build-up is the same as the breakdown though, nearly nothing original except for the fact that it directly starts faster but it’s not a problem as it makes the whole thing very harmonious.

The second drop is also similar to the first one, even if after the pre-drop vocal, there’s a little moment of a few seconds without any kick but only the main synth, which is surprising and captivating if you ask me. The trap part is a bit longer than in the first drop and the first part is a bit shorter but it remains similar and still incredibly energetic.

In the end, VINAI and Carnage made such an innovative collab, perfectly balanced, very catchy and still pretty original and the way it evolves is very interesting. It’s exactly what I was expecting.
