• Exquisite drop melody
• Sublime rap performance
• Modest but effective composition
It wasn’t within my expectations to talk about Enforce Records after they incorporated several changes to their schedule, which consists anything from Dance tunes, Slap House remixes to luckily, a few Trap productions. At least, this genre of works are much rock solid than the rest. For example, we have a noteworthy single from the Venezuelan producer NOIXES and Sri Lankan based alias Duava, titled “Faded To Black”.
The rap vocal (which comes from an uncredited vocalist, or could be Duava) is fantastic, exuding energy and passion thanks to the classic rap beat-work featuring 808s and playful hi-hats. In the build-up, the vocal transforms into a more pop version of itself, still maintaining its rude essence. The drop hovers on a successful flute melody, a stand-out among the other elements in the ensemble that comes slightly generic and things we have heard as usual.
In this experimental tune, the vocal is perhaps the strongest forte it boasts of. The lyricism and snappiness of it is somewhat not captured entirely by the drop, an unfortunate happenstance considering the potential it has. It’s riffs are proficient, although the schematic sticks to standard loud basslines and snares.
It is a creative endeavour with a huge effort propelling it, however one can nitpick on the compatibility between the lead performers: vocals and the drop. “Faded To Black” might not be stupendous, but it achieves greatly with the hooking ingredients added.
